POKHARA, SEP 02 -

Former Speaker and Nepali Congress (NC) leader Tara Nath Ranabhat has announced that he would file his candidacy for the post of a central member as an open contestant in the 12th General Convention of the party.

Speaking at a function in Pokhara on Thursday, Ranabhat said his candidacy was for reformation of the NC and democracy.

He said writing a constitution and taking the peace process to a logical conclusion will not be possible if NC remains divided into various fractions even after the convention.

Nepali people have been fagged out seeing political chaos in the country, he said, adding that parties were to blame for making the nation a prisoner of indecision for failing to choose a new Prime Minister even after the fifth round of elections.

He expressed worry for the delay in the peace process and constitution-writing and accused the parties of playing a dirty game for power.
