KASKI, SEP 01 - Vice President Parmananda Jha has said on Wednesday that the political parties must be accountable to the people if they fail to forge consensus until Sep.5.

Talking to reporters at Pokhara airport, the vice president opined Nepali people are hopeful that  the political parties would reach an understanding at the earliest.

Jha expressed hopes that the understanding among the political parties would provide the way forward to the country.

“To talk about enforcing the presidential system is synonymous to revival of monarchy,” he said, “Both of them are impossible.”

When asked about the Indian interference in Nepal's affairs, the vice president said that all kinds of intervention should be digested in this transitional period  and the need of the hour is to move ahead by forging consensus.
