KATHMANDU, AUG 27 -
Deputy Prime Minister and Nepali Congress leader Sujata Koirala announced her candidacy for the post of party General Secretary on Friday. The election to the post will be held during the 12th NC General Convention slated to be held in the Capital, starting Sept. 17.
Organising a programme for women lawmakers to celebrate women's festival Teej in the Capital today, Koirala expressed her belief that her candidacy will resolve the existing dispute within the party.
Koirala said, "I announced my candidacy with a belief that it will resolve the dispute within the party."
Koirala opined that she will transform the NC into the party of 21st century following her victory in the position.
