KATHMANDU, AUG 04 - The UCPN (Maoist) on Wednesday remarked that it cannot accept the foreign intervention in the efforts to form a new government.

The Maoists' such remarks came immediately after the arrival of former Indian Foreign Secretary Shyam Sharan as a special envoy to Nepal.

A meeting of Maoist office bearers held at party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s residence in Nayabazaar came up with the conclusion that the party would not accept foreign intervention.

The visiting Indian envoy is scheduled to meet Maoist Chairman Dahal. The party has also reiterated its stand that it will not withdraw its candidacy from the fourth round of parliamentary election to pick a new prime minister scheduled for Friday.

The meeting has also urged the CA parties to lend support to the party in the prime ministerial election.
