KATHMANDU, AUG 04 - Health officials have brought 21 throat swab samples for lab test for further investigation on pandemic influenza (AH1N1) virus, better known as swine flu, from those parts of the country where cases of common cold are on the rise.
Talking to Post, Coordinator of Avian Influenza Control Project (AICP), Dr. Ananda Kumar Shrestha said they have collected and sent to National Public Health Laboratory 21 throat swab samples from different parts of Ilam, Koshi and Saptari zonal jails, where the reported cases of common cold patients have surged for the last couple of days.

According AICP, swine flu has taken three lives and 172 out of 543 tested cases have been diagnosed as swine flu in the country so far.
