Flash flood renders hundreds homeless in Kailali

KAILALI, JUL 30 -
Around one thousand people have been displaced after the eastern VDCs of Kailali district inundated following incessant rainfall from Thursday evening.
Around a dozen VDCs including Mashuriya, Pahalmanpur, Ramshikharjhala, Bhajani, and Rampur, among others, have been waterlogged rendering many locals homeless.
However, relief and rescue operation have not been initiated yet, locals complained. The terrified locals have gathered along the East-West Highway in search of safety.
Meanwhile, the vehicular movement along the East-West Highway have been obstructed due to the flooding. Villages have been completely submerged.
Similarly, floods triggered by the incessant rainfall have affected different areas of Kanchanpur. Residents of riverbanks have started moving away towards safety following the increase in water volumes in the Doda River in south and Mahakali River.
