Docs suspect dysentery in Nepalgunj
NEPALGUNJ, JUL 30 -
The team comprising Dr. Pramod Khanal and Dr., Suman Thakur of Department of Epidemiology and Disease Control under the Ministry of Health has started examining cases visiting the infected area.
The disease has been suspected to be dysentery as patients, who are said be suffering from by diarrheoa, have slow pulse rate and get fainted soon after they fall ill.
Some 40 persons out of 200 patients undergoing treatment in Bheri Zonal Hospital and Nepalgunj Teaching Hospital are in critical condition, said Banke District Public Health Officer Dhir Jung Shah.
The health office has deployed health workers in the Nepalgunj Municipality’s wards no. 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 14, and 15 to control the disease.
Meanwhile, District Public Health Office held discussions with government and non-government bodies working in the health sector to find out the ways to step ways efforts to fight the disease

Meanwhile, District Public Health Office, Banke, has deployed doctors in several places of Nepalgunj Municipality after the outbreak of diarrhoea.
Doctors and health workers have fanned out to the municipal area after diarrhoea claimed the life of three-year-old Taniya Halwai, daughter of Anish Halwai, of Nepalgunj Municipality-5, said Ram Bahadur Chand, an official of the health office.
Around 275 patients, who are suffering from the disease, are said to be undergoing treatment in Nepalgunj Medical College, Bheri Zonal Hospital and Nepalgunj United Hospital.
