11 student unions padlock campus chiefs’ offices
KATHMANDU, JUL 27 -
11 agitating student unions have padlocked the offices of the chiefs of Tribhuvan University (TU) affiliated campuses throughout the nation on Tuesday.
The student unions have resorted to protest against the government’s decision to phase out the Proficiency Level Certificate (PCL).
The unions have padlocked most of the campuses including Ratna Rajya, Lalit Kala, Patan, Sanothimi, and Mahendra Ratna in the Capital.
The offices of the chiefs of TU-affiliated campuses in Butwal, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj, Biratnagar, and Bhadrapur have also been locked down, Bhaskar Kafle, President of All Nepal National Independent Students' Union – Revolutionary (ANNISU-R) Fifth, informed.
The protests will continue until the phase out decision is withdrawn, the unions have informed.
