Bhutanese refugees resort to hunger strike
DAMAK, JUL 26 - Bhutanese refugees in the districts of Jhapa and Morang have started an indefinite hunger strike on Monday.
3190 refugees from all seven camps have resorted to the strike after they were deprived of the food relief, which was provided to them from different donor agencies, said Nandu Poudel, the coordinator of the agitating refugees.
"Our protest will continue until the demands are met," he added.
The refugees were not provided with the relief because they had missed the refugee verification process.
