KATHMANDU, JUL 24 -
The Nepali Congress (NC) on Saturday started discussion on the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDmF)’s concept paper that was publicised on Friday.
In a NC Central Working Committee meeting held today, NC Parliamentary Party leader and prime ministerial candidate Ram Chandra Poudel presented the UDMF’s concept paper.
Emerging from the meeting, NC Spokesperson Arjun Narsingh KC said that the concept paper was positive and some issues call for serious discussions.
The UDMF, an alliance of Madhes-based parties, has pledged support to the party that commits to their demand. The concept paper demands the implementation of the 22 and 8-point pacts then signed during the Madhes agitation, autonomous Madhes state, among other demands.
Meanwhile, the NC has re-scheduled district convention that was slated for August 2 to August 12.
