Various organisations in Dang district have demanded a probe into the gang-rape of a girl here on Tuesday and punishment to the guilty.
In a press statement, Human Rights and Peace Society, Dang; Rukumeli Samaj; WOREC Nepal, Dang, and other organisations said they have taken the incident very seriously and demanded the local administration to take strong action against the guilty.
They have also asked the state to be serious not to let similar incidents happen in the future.
An 18-year-old girl from Chunbang of Rukum was snatched by a group of six local youths from New Rapti Guest House at Tulsipur Bus Park and gang-raped her after taking her into a nearby maize field on Tuesday night.
She was staying in the guest house on her way to Kohalpur, Banke, for further studies.
