NFC halts food supply to three eastern districts
BIRATNAGAR, JUN 05 -
Nepal Food Corporation (NFC) has halted the supply of foodstuffs to three districts in the eastern region, despite the demand for rice provided by the government in subsidy is on the rise.
The Corporation has closed its offices and depots in Dhankuta, Sunsari and Terhathum districts.
However, some 20,000 quintals of rice was supplied to Sankhuwasabha and Bhojpour in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year, according to the Corporation. It has been providing Sona mansuli rice at Rs. 30 per kg while its market price is Rs. 45 per kg.
