NRNs for Open University of Nepal
KATHMANDU, JUN 04 -
The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has proposed for an Open University of Nepal (OUN) as one of its flagship initiatives.
The umbrella body of the Nepali diaspora has announced a proposal for the OUN in its Houston Declaration issued after the conclusion of the 4th NRN Regional Conference in Houston, Texas. The conference was held from May 28 to 30.
The proposed initiative is envisioned as a collaborative project with the Nepal government, according to an NRNA statement. It aims at meeting the needs of the marginalised Nepali population.
Canada Foundation for Nepal (CFFN) would be the NRNA’s partner in this proposal. The purpose of the workshop was to bring together some prominent academics and institutional leaders to deliberate the academic, management, and business aspects of creating an Open University for Nepal.
