The UCPN (Maoist) has withdrawn its Rupandehi bandh called to protest the murder of a Maoist district leader.
Sapatu Yadav, a member of Maoist-affiliated Abadh Madhes State Committee, was shot dead by an unidentified gang on Monday night.
The Maoists called off the strike following the arrest of three persons along with weapons by police for their involvement in the murder. The arrestees are Rajendra Pasi and Ram Niwas Nayak of Sadi VDC-2 and Narayan Jaiswal of Bishnupura VDC-7.
