Govt not serious on consensus: Dr. Bhattarai
KATHMANDU, MAY 26 -
UCPN (Maoist) Vice Chairman Dr. Baburam Bhattarai accused the ruling parties of not being serious towards forging national consensus.
During his meeting with United Nations Mission in Nepal (UNMIN) Karin Landgren on Wednesday, the Maoist leader said the government does not seem serious to forge consensus though his party has depicted flexibility.
He reiterated that Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal should step down immediately to ensure the agreement between the political parties and pave the way for the drafting of a new statute.
At meeting held at Bhattarai’s residence in Shantinagar that lasted for about half an hour, the UNMIN chief expressed concern about the peace process and the statute-drafting.
