CA term extension a must: VP Jha
KATHMANDU, MAY 23 -
Vice President Paramananda Jha said that leaders of all the political parties have positive perspective towards the Constituent Assembly (CA) term extension.
Issuing a press statement today, the vice president remarked that the people have full belief in their leaders’ wisdom and national responsibility. “There is no other alternative than to extend the CA term by amending the Interim Constitution,” Jha said.
The CA term is expiring on May 28.
Saying the people fear of possibility of the constitutional and political crisis that may arise if the CA fails to draft the constitution by the stipulated deadline, Jha added that they have not envisaged any other option than drafting the statute through their mandate.
