Ex-King Gyanendra in Nepalgunj
KATHMANDU, MAY 23 -
Former King Gyanendra Shah and former Queen Komal have arrived here in Nepalgunj on what has been described as a pilgrimage tour on Sunday.
Upon his arrival at the Raja Airport in Banke district, his supporters welcomed him with musical band. They hailed the former king and chanted slogans demanding revival of the Hindu status of the country.

This is the first time that the former royalties embarked on a visit to the mid-western region after the age-old institution of monarchy was brought to an end two years back.
Shah, who is last in a line of Hindu monarchs, offered prayers and performed Hindu rituals at the famous temple of Bageeshwori in Nepalgunj.
The ex-King also met his well wishers and former supporters based in the region at a hotel.
Shah, who had earlier talked with reporters at Janakpur, however made a brief comment that he came to Nepalgunj "just to see the mid-western people's faces brightened".

Meanwhile, Shah could not fly back to Kathmandu as the flight could not take off from Nepalgunj due to weather condition.
He was scheduled to take the last flight of Buddha Air.
