Let the Maoist translate its ‘sweet words’ into action: Deuba
KATHMANDU, MAY 13 -
Senior Nepali Congress (NC) leader Sher Bahadur Deuba remarked on Thursday that the Maoists’ words could not be trusted no matter how sweet they sound. He suggested the Maoists to maintain unity in their action and speech.
Dubbing Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal as a ‘sweet conversationalist’, the NC leader said the Maoists have not created the environment of trust due to their failure to translate their speech and into action.
In an interaction with intelligentsia, civil society, and professionals on Wednesday, Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal had said his party was flexible not only in government leadership but in almost all the contentious issues including the army integration and dismantle of paramilitary structure of YCL.
The NC has however laid down these issues before the Maoists as the preconditions for forging the much-talked-about national consensus.
“Prachanda talks sweet. But he should prove it through action,” said the NC leader talking briefly to journalists in the capital today. “The problems have appeared due to the failure to put it into action.”
