Scores injured at Jorpati as locals retaliate Maoists

KATHMANDU, MAY 07 -

At least five persons including four policemen were injured in a clash between the locals and Maoists in Attarkhel area of Jorpati, Kathmandu on Friday.

The policemen and a non-aligned civilian were caught up in the clash between the banda-enforcers and the locals who continued their retaliation against the Maoists' strike today.

They sustained injuries while the sides were pelting stones at each other. The civilian, identified as, Lakshman Tamang, was on his way to the nearby Nepal Medical College Hospital to attend his ailing father.

The locals had retaliated the Maoists yesterday also.
