Govt to mobilise security forces to ease up supplies
KATHMANDU, MAY 07 -
The government on Friday decided to mobilise security forces to ensure the supply of essential commodities that has dried up due to the unrelenting Maoist-imposed nationwide general strike.
The Cabinet meeting held today took the decision to this effect, saying that shortages of the daily essential commodities were felt in recent times.
The government took the decision owing to the mounting complaints about the dearth of goods due to the general strike, Minister for Information and Communication and Government Spokesperson Shankar Pokharal informed.
The government has announced to provide security to those who wish to open their stores during the banda.
Also, the government has decided to extend the tenure of six Nepal Army Colonels. Likewise, the cabinet appointed Nepali Ambassador to Sri Lanka Sushil Kumar Amatya as the non-resident ambassador of Maldives as well.
