Pvt schools to operate from Friday
KATHMANDU, APR 29 - The All Nepal National Independent Students’ Union- Revolutionary, Maoist student wing, on Thursday decided to lift the indefinite shutdown of private schools following an agreement to review the fee structure within next 20 days.
A meeting among the representatives of the ANNINSU-R, Private and Boarding Schools’ Organisation Nepal (PABSON), National-PABSON and Guardians’ Association facilitated by the Education Ministry held today reached an understanding to resume the private schools.
Earlier, the ANNISU-R had enforced shutdown of private schools across the nation protesting against unfair hike in tuition fee.
According to PABSON Chairman Rajesh Khadka, who was also present at the meeting, the meeting culminated with a deal to scientifically review the fee structure as per the regulation.
The ANNISU-R and the private school organisations agreed to call off the educational shutdown and suspend the hiked fee respectively for the time being, Guardians’ Association Chairman Suprabhat Bhandari said.
ANNISU-R Chairman Lekhnath Neupane said the private schools will run from Friday saying that their demand was addressed in the meeting.
