INSEC concerned over school shutdown

INSEC has appealed the stakeholders to end the shutdown of private schools through dialogue.
Saying that the shutdown imposed by the Maoist student wing to protest against the tuition fee hike in the schools has affected millions of students and posed a threat to the scheduled exams of Higher Secondary Education Board starting Thursday.
Issuing a press release, INSEC, drew the attention of the concerned authorities including the UCPN (Maoist) and its students wing All Nepal National Independent Students' Union- Revolutionary (ANNISU-R) towards the negative impacts.
Private schools across the country have been shut down since Sunday depriving millions of students across the country from their right to education.
Likewise, the Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB) examinations to be taken by some 760,000 students from Thursday are sure to get hampered by the Maoist announced indefinite general strike.
It has also appealed not to create any obstructions during the HSEB examination period.
