KATHMANDU, APR 15 -

A team of Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities (NFIN) submitted a memorandum and a 3ft long Bamboo Pen to CA chairman Subas Chandra Nemwang on Thursday demanding timely constitution.

During the meeting held at the CA chair office, Singhadurbar, Nemwang said power based politics and PLA combatants’ management are the main obstacles for the timely constitution. He reiterated that the constitution can be drafted on time if political parties forge consensus.

Nemwang said the constitution as per the people’s aspirations could be promulgated on time by managing the CA routine though there are few days left for this job. Only 42 days have been left for promulgating the new constitution. CA chair said pressure from all sides is needed in a bid to end the political deadlock and establish the lasting peace.

The memorandum has demanded secular state and autonomous states with right to self-determination for addressing the common issues of the indigenous and nationalities.

The team of the NFIN was led by its president Raj Kumar Lekhi.
