KATHMANDU, APR 14 -
The scheduled meeting of the Special Committee for the Integration, Supervision and Rehabilitation of the Maoist combatants was put off yet again on Wednesday.
According to sources, the meeting could not take place as the senior political leaders could not give time for the committee meeting today.
Earlier, the committee had convened the meeting, including top leaders representing in it, for today so as to resolve the contentious issues citing that the army integration was a political issue.
The party leaders, who have been claiming that the army integration process should be concluded before constitution, however, have been postponing the special committee meeting repeatedly.
The meeting was scheduled to inform the party leaders about the progress made so far by the special committee and the action plan, to discuss the undecided issue and the technical committee on army integration.
The special committee, formed under the leadership of Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, has its representative members from major political parties including UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, Madhesi Janadhikar Forum, Madhesi Janadhikar Forum-Loktantrik and Tarai-Madhes Loktantrik Party.
