'Qualms over constitution drafting'

Deputy Prime Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar has said the new constitution cannot be promulgated in the stipulated time if the present government is toppled.
He said this while laying the foundation stone of a bridge to be constructed at Sundarpur in Udayapur district on Tuesday.
DPM Gachchhadar claimed that only the present government could bring the constitution in time since it is the only credible and strong government.
He said the constitution could be drafted within the deadline if the three big parties forge consensus on this topic.
Deputy Prime Minister Gachhadar warned of a looming political crisis and instability in the country if we fail to bring the constitution in time.
He also said democracy, federalism and republic cannot be institutionalised without timely constitution.
Constituent Assembly (CA) member of the Nepali Congress, Dr. Narayan Khadka hoped construction of the bridge will fulfill the local people’s aspirations since long.
Minister for Agriculture and Cooperatives Mrigendra Kumar Singh Yadav, Assistant Minister for Physical Planning and Works Kalawati Paswan and CA members from the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum were present at the foundation-laying ceremony.
The bridge will be 307 metres long and it is being constructed at a total cost of Rs. 130 million.
