YCL attacks NSU cadre
NUWAKOT, APR 12 -
Activists affiliated to Young Communist League, the sister organisation of UCPN-Maoist attacked and seriously injured Nepal Students Union (NSU) Nuwakot member Ramji Paudel.
Paudel, 24, was attacked by YCL workers led by Jiwan Lama, who came 20 in numbers at 10:00 pm Sunday at Chokade of Bageswor VDC, said NC Nuwakot.
He has sustained injury on his head from the attack with weapons. He was sent to the capital after primary treatment in Trishuli Hospital, and is undergoing treatment at the Kathmandu Model Hospital.
Paudel, a resident of Haldekalika VDC-2 had been in Nuwakot to see the election of the school management committee of Bageswor Higher Secondary School, Sunday.
A minor clash had occurred during the election in the day between NSU and YCL.
Six persons including NSU District Chairman Sriram Shrestha, Dasarath Thapa, Kiran Gajurel, Achyut Giri, and Santosh Upreti were injured.
Later Paudel was attacked in isolation, police said.
NC district president Dhruba Adhikari has demanded action on the guilty while deploring the attack on Poudel, who is also the NC Haldekalika Village secretary.
