Nawalparasi wildfire under control
PARASI, APR 05 -
The forest fire that broke out in Ritugan Community Forest and a national forest in Dhurkot VDC-7 of Nawalparasi district on Saturday night has come under control on Monday.
The fire came fully under control at around 11 am after a long effort of locals. The fire destroyed herbs and trees worth millions of rupees in over 350 hectares of land, according to the chairman of the forest Dhan Bahadur Darlami.
At least five persons including treasurer of the community forest were injured while trying to douse the fire on Sunday. Locals complained that the local administration and the district forest office did not assist them to douse the fire.
