KATHMANDU, MAR 28 - The medical students and doctors at Institute of Medicine (IoM) on Sunday decided not to return to work unless the office bearers at Dean's Office are suspended and a high-level probe panel is formed to look into the alleged irregularities on the Post Graduate entrance tests.

Holding a combined meeting at the hospital premises for about six hours today, the agitating groups decided not to retreat from agitation and demanded that the government formed a fair and independent panel. The Management Committee of the hospital yesterday had warned the doctors of stern action if they did not return to work by today.

Due to an indefinite strike of the doctor, all medical services except emergency have been shut down at the hospital since March 15.

The Ministry of Education had asked the IoM to form a committee comprising senior professors with clean track record and reschedule and conduct the cancelled entrance tests-that were held on March 13 and 14-as soon as possible, assuring the medicos of  action against the guilty as per the committee's recommendation.

The students have accused Dean Prof. Dr. Arun Sayami and Assistant Dean Dr. Ratindra Nath Shrestha of leaking the question papers of the entrance exams for their financial benefits.
