Bhandari off to China
KATHMANDU, MAR 23 - Defence Minister Bidhya Bhandari left on a nine-day visit to China on Monday. “This is a formal visit with high signifinace aimed at boost military ties between the two countries,” said Defence Minister Bhandari before her departure for Guangzhou. She is scheduled to meet her Chinese counterpart and deputy head of the Chinese Military Commission. The delegation will visit Beijing, Shanghai and Guilin before returning home on March 30. Bhandari said the government did not have a list of military aid to asked from the Chinese government, though decisions on import of communication equipment were possible. Recent developments in the country, issues related to the peace process and management of the border with China may be agendas, she said.
