Norwegian minister arriving
KATHMANDU, MAR 20 -
Norwegian Minister of the Environment and International Development, Erik Solheim, is visiting Nepal on March 22-23. This will be Erik’s fourth visit to Nepal since 2006. “The main purpose of his visit will be to support Nepal’s peace process.
He will be meeting Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, Speaker of the Parliament Subas Nembang and the key leaders of other political parties,” the Norwegian Embassy said in a press release.
Solheim will also meet Energy Minister Prakash Sharan Mahat and Minister for Environment Thakur Sharma.
The discussions will focus on clean energy, hydropower, climate change and higher
education.
Meanwhile, Danish Minister for Development Cooperation Ulla Toraes is arriving on April 6 on a four-day visit. The Danish minister will also meet senior political leaders and acquire information on the latest political situation.
