SYANGJA, MAR 17 -

Police have arrested a man on the charge of killing his wife in Syangja.

Police constable Nawa Dutta Kafle, 36, of Banethok VDC- 6 has been arrested on the charge of killing his wife Kalpana Kafle.

Kalpana's in-laws -- Shobhakanta Kafle, 60, and Mankala Kafle, 55, --have also been arrested on allegations of their involvement in the case.

Kalpana's body was found hanging on a tree some 500 meter far from her home few days ago. The trio were arrested after Kalpana's maternal home side filed a complaint against them at the ward police office, Waling.

According to Kalpana's maternal home side, the Kafle family had been torturing Kalpana saying she did not bring dowry as per their expectation and a gold ring for her father-in-law in her marriage.

It is also learnt that Nawa Dutta was on a weeklong home leave during the incident. Kalpana, the mother of two children--nine year-old daughter and five-year-old son-- never got the family love, said her elder brother Agnidhar Poudel
