1300 PLA appearing in SLC exam

BHAKTAPUR, MAR 16 -

More than 1,000 Maoist’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) personnel are appearing in this year’s School Leaving (SLC) examination.

All of them are sitting for the exam under open school programme run by Educational Human Resources Development Centre.   

Centre’s Deputy Director Shiva Kumar Sapkota said 1,300 PLA personnel from various camps will attend the SLC exam starting from March 25.

He said 300 PLA personnel have been taking part in the exam from Rolpa-based Fifth Division, 600 from Shaktikhor-based Third Division and the remaining from the other camps.

Including 1,300 PLA combatants, 5,200 are appearing in the SLC exam under open school programme being held in 656 schools in 44 districts, said Sapkota.

The centre has made a provision of teaching Mathematics, English and Science subjects through Radio Nepal and the remaining subjects in the designated schools.

This year 466,000 students are sitting for the SLC exam in 1,550 exam centres all across the country.
