SARLAHI, MAR 16 - An unknown group kidnapped a school teacher and subsequently demanded Rs. 5 million as ransom in Sarlahi district.

Mishrilal Raya, the teacher at Mohanpur-based Araniko Janata Lower Secondary School, was abducted on Monday evening while he was returning his residence at Malangawa from the school on his motorcycle, police said.

The family members knew his abduction as an unknown man demanded the huge amount of ransom for his release at around 10 p.m.

Police said the investigation of the abduction had begun in earnest.
