Fire engulfs Jhapa forest
BHADRAPUR, MAR 15 -
A fire broke out at a community forest in Zero Point of Beldangi VDC, Jhapa on Sunday. Many trees have been destroyed in the fire.
Area Police Office, Damak, said nearly 7 hectares of forest area has been reduced to cinders. The fire started at 4:30 pm on Sunday and was brought under control three hours later.
The fire was doused with the help of police personnel, local people and fire engines from Bhadrapur.
It is still unknown how the fire broke out and details of the loss caused by the inferno are yet to be ascertained.
