NHRC begins probe of Banspani killings
BARDIA, MAR 13 -
National Human Rights Commission's (NHRC) regional office in Nepalgunj has started investigation into the Banspani incident in which three women were shot dead by a Nepal Army (NA) personnel on Wednesday night.
According to Murari Sharma, the NHRC regional director, the commission inquired the conservation officer of Bardia National Park and victims' kin and would visit the incident site soon.
Two NHRC officers arrived at the park's office at Thakurdwar on Saturday to probe the incident. Meanwhile, the park administration prevented mediapersons from visiting Krishna B.K. who was arrested on the charge of trading fire with the NA patrol team.
