JANAKPUR , MAR 13 - The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has censured the government for its failure to book the murderers of media entrepreneur Arun Singhaniya. Speaking at a condolence programme organised by FNJ Dhanusha in Janakpur on Saturday, FNJ General Secretary Poshan KC said the government was not taking murder of media entrepreneurs seriously. He alleged that the government gave protection to the murderers.

KC attributed the rising impunity in the country to dereliction of responsibility on the part of political parties. The parties have not prioritised constitution writing, press freedom and sustainable development, he added.

Most of the speakers at the function criticised the government's failure to arrest the killers and ensure security to the media community. The programme was held to mark the 13th day of Singhaniya's murder.

Singhaniya, the chairman of Janakpur Today and Radio Today, was gunned down in Janakpur on March 1.
