Preventive detention for Tibetan protestors
KATHMANDU, MAR 12 -
The Kathmandu District Administration on Friday ordered the preventive detention of eight Tibetans for their involvement in anti-China demonstrations staged in the Capital.
A total of 24 Tibetans were arrested from different places in Kathmandu on Wednesday while demonstrated against China to commemorate the 51st anniversary of Tibet uprising.
All of them are being held under the preventive detention under Public Security Act which allows to detain for 90 days from the day of arrest.
They have been charged with defying prohibitory orders and taking part in anti-China activities.
