NEPSE continues to fall

KATHMANDU, MAR 11 - The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) continued its declining trend on Wednesday dropping 11.1 points. The NEPSE index settled at 489.61 points when trading closed.

Among the sub-indices listed on NEPSE, only the hydropower sector witnessed an increase gaining 2.69 points. The banking sector was the biggest loser shedding 6.49 points. Among the 20 commercial banks present on the trading floor, Everest Bank was the biggest gainer with its shares going up 11 points. Nabil Bank and Nepal Investment Bank shed 34 points each.

Similarly, among the 15 development banks whose shares were traded on NEPSE on Wednesday, Malika Bikas Bank witnessed the highest increase of 11 points while Pashupati Development Bank dropped 14 points. Among the 15 finance companies listed on NEPSE, Pokhara Finance was the highest gainer with an increase of 8 points in its share price. Api Finance lost 24 points.

The top two winners on NEPSE were Chilime Hydropower Company which witnessed a 3.59 percent rise in its stock price, followed by Sunrise Bank which went up by 0.58 point.

Bank of Kathmandu topped the chart in terms of turnover with Rs. 3.698 million.
