KATHMANDU, MAR 08 -

UCPN (Maoist) youth front Young Communist League (YCL) has set the stage to launch what it has described as a 'national youth campaign'. The Maoist youth wing said it is launching the campaign to draw the attention of the concerned stakeholders to the statue-drafting and the peace process as these vital tasks have been stalled.

While announcing the decision of the front's central committee meeting amid a press conference here in the capital on Monday, YCL coordinator Ganesh Man Pun said the decision to this effect was made to pressurise for the promulgation of the pro-people constitution in the stipulated timeframe. He said the campaign will be in favour of peace, national sovereignty and pro-people constitution.

The YCL has resolved to pressurise its mother party for right consciousness as the country will be at stake if the new statute could not be drafted in time. The Maoist sister front informed that the special campaign is also aimed at extending and improving its organisational set up, as the role of youth in the statute drafting is not stronger.

Pun added that they will initiate procedure to work together with the fraternal wings of other parties for the statue draft campaign.
