KATHMANDU, MAR 06 - Defending champion Priti Rijal retain the women's single title at the Tenth Nepal Investment Bank Limited Open Tennis Championship on Friday. In the final played at the Satdobatto Tennis Court, Priti overcame Mallika Rana 6-2, 6-2 to retain the title.

Likewise, Jeetendra Pariyar defeated defending champion Kumar Adhikari 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 to lift the men's single title. The winners and runner-ups of the men's and women's categories pocketed cash prizes of Rs. 40,000 and Rs. 20,000 respectively.

The duo of Jeetendra and Manoj clinched men's doubles by routing the pair of Manoj Rana and Shree Ram Magar 7-5, 6-2 in the final to take home Rs. 20,000.

Murari Bhakta Mathema won the veterans above 56 years category by defeating Madhukar Sumsher Rana 6-3, 6-2.

Likewise, Kamal Thapa triumphed in veterans above 35 years old category. Renu Bajracharya took the women's above 35 years category by beating Joyti Rana 6-1, 6-1 in the final.

A total of 178 players including 26 women had participated in 11 events in the weeklong tournament.
