KATHMANDU, MAR 06 -

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala met Connie Hedegaard, Climate Action Commissioner at the European Commission, in Brussels and held talks on the bilateral interests and concerns.  

On the occasion, Koirala briefed Hedegaard on Nepal’s progress in the peace process and the constitution drafting.

She said that the ecosystem of the mountainous terrains and the people of Nepal were highly vulnerable to the effects of climate change and thereby Nepal needs strong support from the international community including the EU to combat climate change.    

During the meeting, Hedegaard said Nepal would be entitled to climate change support from the EU from this year, informed Embassy of Nepal, Brussels, Belgium.
