Tamang, Thapa reign
KATHMANDU, MAR 05 - Gyanendra Tamang won the men's veterans singles (above 55) of the 10th Nepal Investment Bank Open Tennis Championship with a 6-1, 6-1 drubbing of Pawan Agrawal on Thursday.
Likewise, Kamal Thapa clinched the men's veterans singles (above 45) beating Krishna Raj Ghale 6-4, 6-4, while the men's veterans doubles (above 35) title went to the duo of Chandra Man Shahi and Sovit Man Shrestha, who beat the team of Manoj Rana and Sanu Gurung Lama 1-6, 6-3 and 10-4.
Madhukar Sumsher Rana will take on Murari Bhakta Mathema in the finals of the veterans singles (above 65). Rana entered the final after defeating Uday Shrestha 6-1, 6-4 whereas Mathema made it to the finals after his opponent Mohan Bahadur Shahi retired injured losing the first set 6-1.
Jyoti Rana and Renu Bajracharya will vie for the title in women's veterans singles (above 35) category whereas the finals of the men's doubles will see the pair of Kumar Adhikari and Jeetendra Pariyar entertain Sriram Magar and Manoj Rana.
