KATHMANDU, MAR 03 - The Parliamentary Hearing Special Committee (PHSC) on Wednesday endorsed the two names recommended for the post of Supreme Court (SC) justices.
A meeting of the PHSC this morning unanimously approved Mohan Prasad Sitaula and Ram Bahadur Bom as permanent SC judges.
No complaints were filed against their names. Both Bom and Sitaula are working as permanent SC judges.
The PHSC approval has paved the way for the Judicial Council to make appointment.
In response to the committee members’ enquiry, the duo accused the police administration of being uncooperative in many events.
They remarked that the justice system is not becoming effective owing to the existing trend of carrying out investigation only taking into custody in Nepal—unlike in other countries where arrest comes only after investigation.
