Nepal Police forms panel to probe Singhaniya's murder

KATHMANDU, MAR 02 -
Police Headquarters on Tuesday formed a three-member probe committee to investigate the killing of Janakpur-based media entrepreneur Arun Singhaniya.
"The probe team headed by Senior Superintendent of Police Bijaya Raj Bhatta has been dispatched to Janakpur for the investigation of Singhania's murder," said Police Spokesman Bigyan Raj Sharma.
The team will work in close coordination with the Janakpur-based investigators. The investigators have been urged to submit findings at the earliest possible date. Meanwhile, protesting against the murder, Federation of Nepali Journalists staged a silent demonstration outside the Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday afternoon.
The FNJ, the umbrella organisation of journalists, demanded the government bring the assailants to book and ensure security to mediapersons.
