UNMIN unhelpful, says Peace Minister
BIRATNAGAR, FEB 27 - Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Rakam Chemjong Saturday accused the United Nations Mission in Nepal (UNMIN) of not cooperating in the ongoing peace process in the country.
Talking to reporters at Biratnagar today, the Peace Minister said UNMIN’s unhelpful tendency has worried the government.
Minister Chemjong expressed dissatisfaction over UNMIN’s reluctance to avail the data about the Maoist combatants to the government, and said that it should not do things that might create hurdles in the peace process.
While saying the complications seen in the army integration and rehabilitation process are inherited from the preceding Maoist-led government that failed to prioritise the issues, Chemjong maintained that the incumbent government is working out to conclude the peace process before the promulgation of the new statute.
