PARBAT, FEB 23 -  

In yet another incident of daring broad daylight shooting, two persons were injured when one Mahendra Pun, of Banau-6, opened gunshots at Durlung VDC in Parbat district on Monday. The injured have been identified as  Laxman Basyal, 15, of Durlung-2, and Ramesh Nepali, 23.

Basyal has received bullet in his stomach and is said to be in a critical condition. Police said he has been referred to Manipal hospital in Pokhara following difficulties in his treatment at the district hospital.

According to District Police Office Chief Hiraraj Wagle, Nepali, who has sustained bullet in his hand has been undergoing treatment at Parbat District Hospital.

Meanwhile, police has taken trigger-happy Pun into custody along with a automatic pistol and has been investigating into the incident, Wagle informed. He added the pistol was filled with bullets; however only three shots were fired.

Eyewitnesses said the people stampede after hearing the gun shots following a minor dispute.
