PARSA, FEB 22 -
Minister for General Administration Rabindra Shrestha on Monday accused the UPCN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ of being the hurdle in ending the political deadlock. He further charged that uncertainty is hovering over the peace process and the constitution drafting due to Dahal.
Speaking at the interaction programme organised by the Parsa Chapter of Reporters Club in Birgunj today, Shrestha warned that the people will take to the streets against Prachanda if the Maoists obstructed the statute drafting and peace process.
Saying the Maoist-led government failed to make any significant progress in the peace process though the Comprehensive Peace Agreement talks about ending the peace process within six months, the UML leader accused the Maoists of issuing threats of people’s revolt by enkindling the combatants.
Minister Shrestha expressed concern over the hesitation shown by the Maoists when asked to provide detail information of the combatants cantoned in the UN- monitored camps.
