Mystery shrouds Nepali conservationist's death in Indian hotel
KATHMANDU, FEB 22 -
The project co-ordinator of Biodiversity Conservation Centre in Chitwan under the National Trust for Nature Conservation (NTNC), Kirtinath Poudel, has been found dead under mysterious circumstances at a hotel in the Indian state of Arunachal.
He had left for India more than two weeks ago take part in a training programme organised by Future Nepal.
He was found hanging in the bathroom of the hotel.
Poudel's family has suspected that he could have been murdered.
Poudel was sharing his hotel room with a conservationist from South Africa.
Head of Future Nepal Nawang Gurung brought the body to Kathmandu on Monday and sent it to Poudel's hometown Pokhara.
Poudel was working in the field of nature conservation for baout two decades.
