PM Nepal stresses on unity to protect newest republic
“Today, we are able to live proudly as a sovereign and free citizen because of the people’s power,” said PM Nepal urging everyone to make effort consciously from their respective sectors to maintain this situation.
KATHMANDU, FEB 19 - Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal said on Friday that everyone should be united for the institutional development of the republic.
Addressing a special function organised to mark the 60th National Democracy Day at the Army Pavilion in Tundikhel in the capital today, the prime minister called on everyone to strive in the common objective of protecting the newest republic in the world.
PM Nepal noted that the people had to fight repeatedly for the establishment of democracy in the country. Saying that the achievement made through a big sacrifice has made each of us proud, the prime minister underscored the need for unity to make it sustainable.
“Today, we are able to live proudly as a sovereign and free citizen because of the people’s power,” said PM Nepal urging everyone to make effort consciously from their respective sectors to maintain this situation. He said the people can carryout their responsibility by becoming united.
Saying that the country has decided to go for federalism, PM Nepal remarked that federalism does not mean splitting the country into several pieces.
