KATHMANDU, FEB 15 - Nepal Police on Monday said that there is involvement of an international criminal gang in the murder of media entrepreneur Jamim Shah. One junior police officer, who leaked security information to the gangsters, has been arrested in connection with the incident.
Organising a press meet at Hanumandhoka in Kathmandu this evening, Additional Inspector General (AIG) Madan Bahadur Khadka claimed that evidences suggested that Shah was killed as per the directive of notorious Indian gangsters Bharat Nepali and Bablu Shrivastav. Both of them are believed to be close aides of Indian underworld don Chhota Rajan.
Shrivastav, who was involved in the murder of controversial Nepali parliamentarian and former minister Mirza Dilshad Beg in Kathmandu in 1998, is currently serving terms in a jail in the Indian city of Lucknow.
Shah,
the chairman of Spacetime Network Pvt. Ltd, was shot dead at Lazimpat in Kathmandu last Sunday. One of the two masked men who came on a motorcycle, opened fired at him in the busy street of Lajimpat while he was heading towards his home in Panipokhari.
Talking to the media, AIG Khadka at the Metropolitan Police Commissioner’s Office said Shrivastav is the mastermind of the murder plot, and his henchmen materialised it.

One Deepak Shahi aka Babbu came to Kathmandu about 45 days ago, met local criminal
gangs and sketched out the plan to kill Shah.
Two shooters were hired for the murder. The name of th
e first shooter is not ascertained but he is said to be of Tarai origin, about 27-year old and 5’3” tall. The second shooter is identified as Mohammad Bakar Saiyad. Police claimed that he was inolved in the murder of Saukhat Beg in Butwal on Dec. 25 last year.
One Guddu Singh aka Rabin helped Babbu buy SIM cards and the bike that was used at the time of Shah’s murder. Two other persons who lived with Babbu at his shelter in Baneshwor were also inolved in the plan.
Babbu had rented a house owned by former Armed Police Force (APF) Deputy Inspector General Gyanendra Rai in Shantinagar, one and a half months ago.
The police said that one Shreekrishna Poudel helped Babbu safeguard the lethal weapons, and managed shelter and vehicles to him before and after the murder. Two other locals, identified as Raju Lama and Kishore Shrestha, are also said to be Babbu’s accomplices.
According to AIG Khadka, detained Sub Inspector of Police Prakash Chhetri knew about the plot weeks ago. He provided the security information to Babbu, lured by substantial financial gains.
